The audit of the project had been requested by two Gloucester lawmakers —state Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr and state Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante — in March 2014 after DOT safety inspections on the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge and Gloucester’s Blynman Bridge, aka the Cut Bridge, on Western Avenue, led to reductions in weight limits on both spans.
