Tarr, Ferrante secure $823,500 in earmarks for Cape Ann

State Sen. Minority Leader Bruce Tarr, R-Gloucester, and state Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante, D-Gloucester, say they have secured $823,500 in state funding earmarks for 15 initiatives for Gloucester, Rockport, Essex and Manchester-by-the-Sea in the recently signed state budget.

The $58.78 billion state budget signed into law by Gov. Maura Healey on July 29, is for fiscal 2025, which runs July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025.

“This budget makes targeted local investments to support local priorities on Cape Ann and emphasizes the need to make Massachusetts an attractive, competitive, and affordable place to live and work, with groundbreaking funding for housing, workforce development, education, and transportation,” said Ferrante, the vice chair of the House Committee on Ways and Means, in a joint statement with Tarr.
