One, in response to the “tech tax” debacle of 2013, the Legislative TechHub Caucus, co-chaired by state Sen. Karen Spilka and State Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante, was formed and has been thriving. I’ve see firsthand how the caucus has become a sounding board for many legislators and tech industry leaders to share information and concerns. That Sen. Spilka has not given up her position on the caucus even after being appointed as Senate chair of the powerful and time-consuming Ways & Means Committee speaks volumes to how she perceives the importance of the TechHub Caucus and the need for her continued involvement in it.
