A $1.2 billion state capital bond bill that gained approval through both the Massachusetts House and Senate includes $1.5 million worth of historic preservation projects on Cape Ann. The bill — which gained approval as the Legislature rang down the curtain on its session last week —had drawn the advocacy of both state Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante, D-Gloucetser, and state Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr. And it includes money for the historic fishing vessel Phyllis A, the continued restoration of Gloucester City Hall and funding for Gloucester Stage Company to upgrade its facilities as one of Cape Ann’s leading cultural resources.
